Walnut Blasting
Precision walnut blasting for intake carbon removal — restore engine airflow, power, and fuel efficiency.
Your Car Engine Is Losing Power.
And It's NOT Your Spark Plugs.Singapore's Most Complete Walnut Blasting + Injector Cleaning Service
Direct-injection engines choke on carbon. Your performance drops. Your fuel economy suffers. Your car becomes jerky, sluggish, and loud.
JSS Motorworkz is trusted by drivers across Jurong, Clementi, Bukit Batok & Toh Guan for Singapore’s most complete walnut blasting & injector cleaning on both continental and Japanese makes.
We fix engine choking on pure facts, not with guess.
The Results of Carbon Buildup?
Are you experiencing any of the following? Chemical cleaners cannot reach these valves. Walnut blasting is the only proven method used worldwide.
Before You Spend Another Dollar On Servicing, READ This.
Many workshops in Singapore won't offer or show these because they cut corners. We do the real job, with proof and full restoration — no shortcuts.
- Don't remove the intake manifold (The lazy way)
- Don't use real walnut blasting machines
- Don't clean injectors properly
- Don't understand DI carbon issues
- Don't show proof of what they've done
Why Carbon Forms (It's Not Your Fault)
Carbon buildup is guaranteed on any direct-injection engine. It's how modern engines are designed.
- PCV oil vapor feedback
- EGR recirculation
- Stop-go Singapore traffic (hot engines, slow airflow)
- Short trips preventing burn-off
What is Walnut Blasting? It is a professional carbon cleaning method that removes hardened carbon deposits from your engine's intake valves. In Direct Injection engines, fuel DOES NOT wash the valves. So oil vapor, soot, and burnt fuel bake onto the valves layer by layer.
Full Intake Restoration System
- Step 1: Full Diagnostic Scan + Live Borescope Footage We scope every intake valve and show you the carbon buildup in real-time.
- Step 2: Intake Manifold Removal Our mechanics will conduct a proper teardown to reach every cylinder safely.
- Step 3: Walnut Shell Blasting High-pressure blasting cleans out intake valves until edges are sharp and shiny again — without damaging metal.
- Step 4: Injector Cleaning Flow testing via our in-house machine — Ultrasonic cleaning, high-pressure flow testing, leak and spray pattern check.
- Step 5: Final QC Before Delivery Our mechanics will conduct a final QC to ensure all cylinders are clear of carbon, restoring ECU select airflow, throttle response, and reducing engine smoothness.

What is walnut blasting and how does it clean my engine?
Walnut blasting is a professional carbon cleaning method used to remove hardened deposits from the intake valves of direct-injection (DI / DGI) engine. We use finely crushed walnut shells to safely “sandblast” carbon without damaging metal. This restores airflow, combustion efficiency and engine smoothness.
How do I know if my car needs walnut blasting?
Common symptoms include:
Jerking or hesitation between 1,500 – 2,500 rpm
Rough idling or shaking on cold start
Loss of power
High fuel consumption
Misfire codes (P0300 – P0304)
Sluggish throttle response
If you’re unsure, drop us a message on WhatsApp and we’ll advise accordingly.
How often should walnut blasting be done in Singapore?
Most DI engines require walnut blasting every 50,000 – 80,000 km, depending on driving conditions. Short trips, traffic jams, turbocharged engines and hot climates cause carbon to build up faster — sometimes even as early as 30,000 km.
Is walnut blasting safe for my engine?
Yes. Walnut shell media is non-metallic and does not scratch valves or ports.
We:
Seal each cylinder
Blast one port at a time
Vacuum continuosly
Recheck with borescope after cleaning
It’s the method recommended by BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes and most performance workshops.
Why do you include injector cleaning as part of the service?
Carbon buildup affects airflow, but clogged injectors affect fuel delivery. To restore full performance, both must work together. We ultrasonically clean, flow-test and balance your injectors using our machine — a step most workshops skip completely.
How long does walnut blasting take?
Typical jobs take 3-5 hours, depending on carbon buildup, number of cylinders and type of intake valves.
What engine benefit the most from walnut blasting?
All direct-injection petrol engines, including:
BMW N/B-series • Audi/Volkswagen TSI/FSI/TFSI • Mercedes M270/M274
Mazda Skyactiv • Hyundai GDI • Kia TGDI • Peugeot/Citroën THP
Toyota D4S • Honda DI • Subaru FA/FB DI — and many more.
How much does walnut blasting costs?
Our walnut blasting price starts from $180 onwards for most Japanese makes. Final pricing depends on factors such as your engine layout, intake accessibility and continental VS Japanese makes. We’ll provide a transport quote once we receive more details.
